Toltec Mounds State Park

This state park is one we have never seemed to find time to go to, and it's so near to where we live. It is an ancient Native American site that is thousands of years old. They used to do archeological digs here, and when Keith came for field trips, you were allowed to do alot more stuff, but most of it is protected now and just for historical value. MaKayla was my tour guide and read me the book when we stopped at the points of interest.

Cassie was excited that she got to get out and walk.

Here is a couple pictures of the mounds. Could you imagine trying to build 50 foot high structures 2000 years ago?!

Back in the visitor center was Dereks favorite part. The had all kinds of different furs of the animals that live in the area. Derek really liked trying to figure out which animals they came from.

Keith and meaghan were there too!
