Yesterday we went on what Meaghan calls "Our Family Field Trip". We went to Little Rock. We always take for granted that we're there all the time and forget that the girls very seldom leave Hot Springs, so they were just excited to go somewhere. For Christmas, they got "gift certificates" to Build A bear Workshop, so this weekend we decided to go. It's pretty fun (but can get quite pricey) but they had been begging to go since July. Anyways, here is how the process goes.
First, you pick an "animal carcass" as Keith calls it. It's just the shell without any stuffing in it.
Here is Derek Stuffing his. They have a big stuff machine That shoots the fluff into the bears and you can put as little or as much stuffing as you want. They also have an air bath where you can "wash" the excess fluff off your bear.

Then it was Kayla's turn to fill her monkey.

Now Meaghan does her panda.

Cassie was last. First she wasn't happy about the lady taking the animal carcass away. Then she didnt want to push the petal. When it was all done, she was happy.

This next part is where it gets expensive... the clothing. They have outfits, shoes, accessories, closets and everything a bear doesn't need.
Derek decided on an "Army pilot".
Lastly, you make out a birth certificate, which also gives you an online code to play on the Build A bear website which is what the older girls REALLY wanted.
Here are the oldest three with their finished products.

Sounds fun! I have been wanting to take the kids to the one here but just never get a chance to.. All their animals are so cute!
SO worth it if you have the money. We havent had enough money until now (doesnt help that I have to get one for 4 kids). But the kids really liked creating their own little friend exactly the way they wanted to. Derek and Cassie sleep with theirs
