Today we went geocaching. Let me give a brief overview of what this is because I didn't know until recently. Geocaching is a "club" of people that are like "treasure hunters". Everyone has a GPS unit. You go on the website, get the coordinates to one of the thousands of "treasure chests" that are hidden around the world and use your GPS to find it. Then when you find it, you take one thing out of the "treasure chest" and put something in to replace it (like money, a hot wheels car, etc). Some of them have codes you can look up online and see where they have gone. It's pretty fun and gives you a reason to get out and hike. The kids love it too! Anyway, here is our first adventure...
It was pretty cold and I forgot to bring Cassies jacket, so I got to be pregnant with a 30 pound baby.
Here is Keith gearing up to start hunting.
Yay! She was so excited we found the first one! And then Keith picked out a treasure for us.

For the next one, Derek was our leader. He was so proud of himself.
Courtney and John found us along the way, so they were there when they found the second one.
Cassie was not happy about being in my jacket, so we went to wait in the car. She drove me around for awhile.
The rest of them went on to find 2 more caches, so by the time they got back, everyone was tired and hungry. We went over to Carlas for our traditional southern New Years feast- Fried chicken (my favorite), chicken and dumplings, black eyed peas, mashed potatoes, cornbread and so much more!
