I have come to realize that plants are okay with me now. For the longest time, I had a wonderful talent for being a plant murderer. I killed the holly plant that Keith and I got for our wedding and apparently that isn't supposed to happen...ever. But no more will I carry the burden of this curse :) Since working at the nursery I have learned the correct way to care for them and they like me now. Another perk from working there is I get some cool plants. First, let me share a couple of the plants that are bloming that have been here a while. (They're finally happy enough to beacon hummingbirds)

This next part is for you mom. These next two pictures are of the Puerto Rican Oregano and the Mother of Thyme plants I just aquired.

I bought some confederate jasmine a couple weeks back and it is spreading everywhere and blooming.
And now my favorites. Yesterday I went to get my rose trees. I got 2 twofer rose trees that I am SO excited for. The Julia Childs are blooming away and they smell wonderful. The other half of the plant is supposed to bloom Ebb Tides, but even at work I have yet to see an Ebb on this tree... I will make it happen though.

So those are the plants that surround the front of my house :) Yay for plants!

Plants enrich our lives, don't they? Especially the flowering kind. What is that plant in the first picture -- the long stem with blue flowers all along the stem? Is it heather?
I need you to help me figure out what kinds of plants/ flowers have a long season and need little to no maitenance
Confederate Jasmine? So have you got Union Honeysuckle?
I know...I'm tired...but I do love the Puerto Rican oregano [Hope it sings, "I like to live in America"].
Okay. Bedtime. Love you, bug!
They're beautiful! I love the picture with the hummingbird. Congrats. What does the other rose look like?
the other rose is a deep purple. Supposedly when they bloom together- yellow and purple- its very pretty
Mom, im pretty sure my plants dont sing. How about this though- when I pull some off to cook with, I will sing that song... and do the dance :)
The first picture is a flowering grass. It blooms twice a year here- once in spring and once in fall. They are a very nice filler plant and when I bought them, i didnt know they bloomed... very cool suprise :)
I guess a good Arkansas thing is that you get lots of plant choices. They are beautiful! Does the jasmine smell heavenly?
