On Friday we had a very nice family gathering. Darrin and family came down for a visit from Colorado. I havent seen them since Derek and Taylor were babies. It's always so fun to see them and hopefully we can hang out when we go up to Colorado next year. Well, heres the group that showed up.
I woke up this morning to my Ebb Tides blooming. YAY!
Also this morning we played dress up with Cassie. Angela (keiths cousin) sent her a bunch of really cute clothes and she had a blast putting on a fashion show for us. She kept cheesing all morning (which is a big deal, cause she never smiles when I get the camera out.

This evening we had quite a suprise. (get ready mom) This little guy came right up to the front door of my mother in laws house. We have affectionately named him John Henry. He is a chocolate tarantula which is the only species native to Arkansas. Keith has taken quite a fondness to him. They are actually siting behind me as I type this. Aren't you ready to come visit me mom? :)

As long as he has a place where he's contained when I'm asleep, I'm good. He is kind-of pretty and creepy at the same time - kind of like a few guys I've met in my life!
dont worry mom. I made keith let him go. He has to go find a mate before winter or he'll die. Did you know that spider is older than Nico? weird huh?
That's pretty cool! How do you know how old it is?
That is cool! I didn't know spiders live that long. I'm glad it's too cold for big spiders here. Makes me creepy crawly to think about it! The roses are gorgeous! Good job.
these particular tarantulas reach sexual maturity until they are about 10 years old (which is when the start to roam for a mate). The oldest one kept in captivity was a female and reached 26 years old!
