San Angelo State Park

Today we were supposed to go see some cool stuff out in Paint Rock Texas, but they were closed. We went to San Angelo SP instead since it's so close to the house. We didn't get to see the buffalo (again) but we did see some wildlife and plants.

I don't have pictures of the quail the boys talked to or the road runner I tried to run over, but we saw those too. Here is Nico having fun chasing the prairie dogs in prairie dog village. (there were so many mounds you can barely walk through it)

This is Derek pretending to be a buck. (note the serious buck face) haha

The highlight of the day for the boys was finding the bones in Prairie dog village. They thought that was so cool. We had a little episode of fright when Derek was oggling over the bones. He looked up at me, became very nervous of the dozens of prairie dogs surrounding us and said "mom, I thought you said prairie dogs are nice?!" After we got over the fact that they did not disassemble this animal, we were back to thinking it was very cool.

Cassie was very grouchy during our trip, so here is a couple pictures of her playing in grandmas back yard after her nap.

Super cool! What kind of plant is in the second picture? I love it! And the bones - wow! Way cool! We found some animal bones in the cemetary once. We actually went back and visited them with friends. It's almost the favorite thing of 10 year old boys.
