Today we finally got to go out to Paint Rock Texas. I have been trying to get ahold of the lady who owns this ranch since we got here and she finally agreed to give us a tour today. Mrs Coffman is the owner of a sheep ranch out there. On this ranch are some of the oldest well preserved Native American pictographs in Texas. They range from 1200 years old to 200 years old. her family has owned this land since the 1870's and give periodic tours of the paintings. She is an old school teacher and ran our tour like a classroom. It was quite interesting. The boys really enjoyed searching the rock facings for paintings.

Here are some of the newer and more distinguishable paintings.

There were so many paintings. We didnt get to see all of them because it was so hot and Cassie was tired of staring at rocks, but it was very neat and worth the drive out there.

She is about the coolest person ever! A ranch with pictographs? That's so cool!
I forgot to put in there that her family got it for cheap back in the 1870s because if they bought it, they were in charge of moving the comanches out of the area :)
She was very cool, but i dont think she was used to dealing with young kids :)
Oh, my gosh! She just got way cooler, and so did her ancestors!!
