We're home!

So we are finally back home. I was starting to forget what it looked like :) I wouldn't have blogged about our trip, but we took a detour. First though, this is how Cassie had to start out her trip. She needed to have every single one.

We drove all the way to Abilene without incident. Then there was a car accident next to us. We kept driving until we got to the wonderful Dallas/Ft Worth metroplex... where we got stuck in bumper to bumper traffic for 3 hours! FUN! We decided to detour to the Ft Worth Zoo until the roads cleared a bit. My kids had never been to the zoo, so they were excited.
We saw so many animals because this zoo is pretty big. Derek loved all the animals, but these were his favorite.



He also loved the Safari train that ran around the park.

This is his school mascot, so he said it was cool too.

Cassie also loved all the animals, but these were the ones she kept trying to get. She would claw at her backpack until we let her out so she could stand at the fence.




I like the tall, gangly animals.I think they are so cute!



After a few hours, we were getting tired, especially Cassie,

so we hit the road again... and now we're back. YAY!
