Derek's name

Today, for the first time ever Derek wrote his name all by himself. He asked me for some colors this morning so he could draw while I was doing dishes. He came back and I thought he was going to show me a picture of a car (because that's what he usually draws). He said he was trying to write his name, but he didn't know how to spell Bruce. So in his room, without any visual aid or anything he wrote Derek B. (I'm guessing that's a . at the end) without any help from anyone. He was so proud of himself that I just had to share it, especially since I haven't really practiced writing with him yet.
