Our gas experience

This morning we woke up to the wonderful smell of natural gas. Eventually I called the gas company to come check. First-
"Ma'am, your stove is leaking gas. Not a major issue, but you should replace it within the next few months"
Okay... I wanted a new stove for Christmas, now I have an excuse. He finishes his routine check and then
"Ma'am you have a major leak here in your valve of the heating unit. We're going to have to shut off your heat until you get this replaced"
Fun! It is only 40 degrees outside. (Luckily, we have a space heater, so we are cooped up in my room.) At least it wasn't the whole furnace that needed replacing. Here is a picture of the costly valve for everyones enjoyment and when I get my stove I'll put a picture of that up.
