Up close and personal with a B 17

Today we went down to the airport to see a B 17 they had on display. The were doing flights, but we didn't have a gazillion dollars to do that, so we just toured it. Derek loves airplanes... and soldiers... so this was a double cool thing for him. He got to see the cockpit, the bomb bay and the .50 caliber machine guns. I think his favorite part, though, was sitting in the jumpseat in the back with the headset pretending to talk to the pilot.

I just wanted to post these for you guys to enjoy!

Ok, you guys just have way too much fun together. How do you find out about all these crazy things? Did you know that after 16 years of living in Colorado I never once went to the sand dunes? Guess I'm just not as adventurous as you are.

Well, we look for brown signs everywhere (tourist attractions) and write them down... or for local things we look at the entertainment section of the paper (or on the radio) and find the smallest or most random thing going on, that way we can guess that most of the people will be at the bigger events. Also shear randomness, we pack up the kids with plenty of stuff to do and just drive. Sometimes we find nothing, sometimes we find something! It's pretty weird...

Um I am pretty happy about this post and I'll tell you why. There is a picture of Keith holding Cassie, and Keith is smiling. I think that is the first picture I have ever seen with even the slightest hint of a smile on him! Yay!
