Gustav

Well I've been looking at this image since yesterday and so I figured I'd put it up for everyone to see (courtesy of the weather channel with a few mods). I love arkansas because it is so green and beautiful. I don't like all the rain that is necessary for my plants though. Since last night, Gustav (or hurricane formerly known as) has been hovering and spinning over us. No real storms, just constant rain. And some pretty good wind. I'm mostly just writing about it because I'm terribly bored and our power keeps flicking on and off, so the tv's off. This is the first time I can remember a hurricane spinning this way and just sticking around. It is supposed to stick around all week, so I am trying to figure out some great activities for a mommy, 4 year old, and baby to do together indoors. I need some ideas...

homemade playdough on the kitchen floor with cookie cutters, and after that you have the kids "ice skate" on the floor. Put wet rags on their feet and show them the best places to skate (usually where there is the most mess). And if it's warm enough, let them go play in the rain and have hot chocolate or warm baths after. They love to play in the rain! I lived in Vancouver for a long, long, loooooong time and had to do lots of indoor play, so let me know if you want more ideas.

oh great ideas! We can't play outside though, because the wind is excessively strong and is pelting us with pine needles! Painful. I can do homemade playdough, then cassie can just eat it and think that was fun.
