June 3rd

Well on the 3rd, we headed back to Hot Springs. We really didn't feel like rushing though, so we took a couple detours. First we went to Fort Griffin because I really wanted to see the Texas Longhorns (actual cow Longhorns). I only got to see a couple, but they were pretty cool. Then we toured the Fort and saw all the old ruins and the reconstructs of some of the other buildings. The westward expansion is Keith's favorite time period, so he had alot of fun learning about some of Texas' history.

After we left, we decided to go through Mineral Wells in Texas instead of taking the interstate. We came across the building in the top picture and thought it looked VERY similar to a hotel we have back home (bottom picture). We found out that the hotel in Mineral Springs was designed after our hotel back home. You can't tell from the pictures because the trees are in the way, but the bottom deck looks almost identical.

When we finally got to Fort Worth, we stopped at the Whataburger that we have always stopped at every time we drive through. We finally got back home after 12 hours of driving at 2:00 in the morning. It was a wonderful trip. I'm glad I got to go.

So I just realized that there is probably more than one Whataburger in Fort Worth. So anyway, we have eaten at A Whataburger in Fort Worth, it may not have been the same one...
