Today we went to Petit Jean State Park. It is one we have been to a few times, but it's one of my favorites (and it's close to Keith's work). Derek had alot more fun this time because he was old enough to hike the trail by himself (the trail is a bit difficult because you have to hike down the side of the mountain to get to the bottom of the waterfall). When Derek got down there he was so excited. He said the waterfall was cool because it was as big as a building. On our way back up, he had to stop and count all the leaves on the plants to make sure they weren't the itchy kind (poisonous). At the top, we went out to this canyon overlook. It was a pretty straight drop down and Derek told me "We have to be so careful so we don't plunge into the revine". I have no idea where he got that from, but everyone within earshot started laughing. On our way home, we hit one more short trail that led to a rock outcropping that resembles a cave. This was Derek's absolute favorite part. He asked if we could move there forever because it's okay if caves are dirty. The only thing that dissapointed him was that there were no bats in his "house". :) Cassie also had alot of fun, as long as we were moving. She sang us songs (and everyone else for that matter. she does not have a quiet voice) and blew rasberries the whole time. Keith got his badge for his walking stick so now we have a badge for every Arkansas park that we've been to together.
