My kids

So today Derek had his last day of school. He got his report card... he passed to the first grade at 3 times his reading level, and above average in his literary, cognitive and mathematic skills. Smart little guy. :) He's so excited to be a first grader. Also, his teacher (who has been at Lakeside Primary for over 30 years) is going to retire after this year, so Derek and his class got to be her last class.

Cassie is, well just my crazy girl. She's growing so fast, her vocabulary expands daily, and I can't keep her in shoes because she absolutely refuses to wear them unless I force her to. Her new passion is to try and climb everything. Here are some pictures of her climbing a pine tree (without shoes). She got about 2 feet up before her little toes couldn't grip the bark anymore... Strange child :)
